AR’s TNA Turning Point 2012 PPV Review

By : andyravens Posted on

Opening segment with Hurricane sandy fund
An odd way to kick it off but its a good cause so you can’t say anything bad about it & it only took like 5-6 minutes.

TV Title Match: Samoa Joe (C) Def Magnus
A very good back & forth action match.  Yes they could have done more hardcore stuff as it was a no dq match but they did this one very good. No complaints here & magnus never tapped out so we might just see another match here 3.5-5 good match.

ODB & Eric Young Def Jesse & Tara
A comedy match can sum it up very well. Didn’t miss much but very surprised that EY went over with his contract Expiring soon. comedy 1-5

X Division Title Match: RVD (C) Def Joey Ryan
A decent back & forth action match. They will continue this feud just because after the match Matt Morgan lays out rvd. Decent 2.5-5
DOC Def Joseph Park
A complete beat down of Parks the entire match, he did get bloody in this one & almost turned into abyss for a second. Look for this character to have a personality disorder or something because ever match parks has he does the same thing where his personality changes. An ok match 2-5

Tag Team Title Match: Hernandez Chavo Guerrero (C) vs.Daniels & Kazarian
A solid back & forth action tag match with the heels getting the majority of the offense but the last 5-7 minutes it was a very fast pace & wondering who is gonna win with all of the close pin attempts. A solid match 2.5-5
Triple Threat #1 Contenders For World Title: James Storm Def A.J. Styles & Bobby Rhode
Wow what can you say about this match they isn’t obivous. These 3 guys tore down the house in what is one of the best matches of the night but the main event stole the show. This match was in the middle of the card but gave this ppv a boost for the viewer. The crowd was hot for this match & helped it. But give it up to these guys & we will see James Storm Vs The winner of the main event for next months ppv. Great match 4-5

Kurt Angle defeated Devon
An ok match alot of botches that hurt this match. I know they have worked together alot but it didn’t show at all in this match. Devon worked very stiff & he isn’t on the same level as angle that’s for sure. The ending made no sense if your looking at it from a storyline platform. All it does is makes the aces & eights group weak & there Sergeant of arms a loser. If anyone can help me understand the positives for devon losing please leave a comment & let me know. An ok match 2-5

TNA Title Ladder Match: Jeff Hardy (c) defeated Austin Aries
A very good ladder match & the best of the night. I defiantly recommend everyone checking out this match. A back & forth match with alot of spots. Now they did have some problems with the weak & two broken ladders but You can get through it. The finish is crazy with the twist of fate on the ladder that makes aries fly to the outside might have injured aries but not confirmed at this time. Really good match 4-5

Overall PPV Rating: This was above an average tna ppv but i wouldn’t say go out & buy the replay but how ever you can check out the 3 way & Main event matches for sure. The under card didn’t help any but im kind of used to that with a tna or even wwe ppv. Ill give it a 6.5-10 rating & what got his ppv over the 5 star mark with a 6 & half star was the 3 way & main event match which i can’t say anything more than ive already said.
