Edge out until 2010, Jeff Hardy’s WWE Future & Chris Masters Update
Published July 4th, 2009 in Headlines
PWInsider.com is now reporting that the official diagnosis for Edge’s ankle injury is indeed a torn Achilles tendon and could potentially keep him out of the ring until January 2010 depending on the severity.
ProWrestlingTorch.com is reporting via the U.K. Sun that WWE star Jeff Hardy has not decided whether to re-sign with WWE. Hardy claims he has not signed a new contract. Hardy’s current contract expires at the end of July following. He is scheduled for a World Title match at the Night of Champions pay-per view on July 26. A decision will need to be made within the next few weeks. When Hardy was asked during a recent interview with Spain’s “Four Network to promote the WWE’s November European tour, whether he’s made a decision to continue wrestling for WWE, he was quoted as saying “I don’t know…I am 31 years old now and I don’t like making plans for the future,” Hardy said. “I can wrestle until I am 40 but I don’t want to make plans, I don’t like thinking about what could happen between now and the next five years.”
Source: The Wrestling Observer – is reporting that former WWE star Chris Masters who was recently hired back by the company had a meeting with Vince McMahon at the TV tapings a few weeks ago in Los Angeles, CA. According to sources, Masters was recommended for a return by current WWE World Champion Randy Orton. This rehiring started lots of discussion within the company with many wondering how his new deal applies to previous violations with the Wellness Policy. Masters violated the drug testing policy twice and was fired in late 2007 over his second violation. Normally talent is not fired until after a third violation.
