Edge suffers a legit injury at house show? & The Future of Tony Atlas in the WWE
Published July 4th, 2009 in Headlines
WrestlingInc.com is reporting via a text message sent by a fan who attended a July 3rd WWE house show in San Diego, CA witnessed Edge getting injured during his match with Jeff Hardy. The fan states in their text that Edge was running towards Jeff and to have appeared to either have twisted or broken his ankle, as Edge’s foot looked to be in a very awkward position, thus the match being immediately stopped. The fan also reports that EMT’s rushed to the ring to assist Edge to the back with Edge asking for the mic to apologize to the fans.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Tony Atlas could soon be done with the WWE. Atlas is no longer managing Mark Henry as a result of the 15 man WWE trade which took place on the June 30th edition of Monday Night Raw. It’s also being reported that WWE plans to push Mark Henry as a top babyface on the RAW Brand which doesn’t leave much room for Tony Atlas who was managing Henry in ECW when he was a top heel. Atlas signed a one year contract with the WWE in July of 2008. It is unknown at this time if the WWE will re-sign Atlas, but until a decision is made, he is still listed on the ECW roster.
