First WWE Release Of 2009, ECW Expands To Second Network, Cena In Demand

By : Posted on

– In the first release of the new year, WWE has parted ways with former ECW referee Keenan Quinn. He was recently sent back to Florida Championship Wrestling when the decision was made to use a singular crew of referees every week, as opposed to a separate group of referees for each brand. The decision to pull back on the number of referees used was due to the company’s economic cutback initiative.

– WWE put out a press release announcing the rebroadcast of ECW on mun2 every Friday night starting January 9th at 10 p.m. ET/PT. “We’re excited to expand our partnership with WWE with this new property,” says Alex Pels, General Manager for mun2. “The popularity of WWE among young Latinos has prompted us to continue providing action-packed, WWE entertainment for our audience, all while building strategic partnerships for the network.” You can read the press release in its entirety at the following link.

– According to a press release issued by research firm, John Cena was ranked in the top 10 of the “Most Wanted Celebrities.” Cena only trailed Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Oprah Winfrey, and Zac Efron. Click here to read the press release.
