Jeremy Borash said on his Twitter page that former WWE wrestlers Kevin Thorn and Kizarny (Sinn) were backstage at Tuesday’s TNA IMPACT taping in Orlando, FL. TNA gave Thorn a try-out match against Kip James. James won the match. Thorn was released from the WWE in January of this year and Sinn was released from the WWE this past March. There is nothing official on whether TNA has signed either of these former talent to a contract.
The USA Network issued a press release on September 1st announcing the cable channel’s has had the best summer ever for TV ratings, which include the best summer ratings for WWE Monday Night RAW on USA since 2001. Eight years ago, the WWE was at the end of the Monday Night Wars That time period eight years ago was the end of the Monday Night Wars era following the purchase of rival company World Championship Wrestling. After the failed storyline “Invasion” angle involving WCW and ECW, ratings began to drop. The USA Network stated in the press release that RAW averaged 5.72 million viewers per episode during the summer, which more than likely is to include DVR viewing. The “summer” period is from the June 15th to the August 24th episode. The average viewers during that time period was 5.63 million viewers.
