FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 11, 2010
(Lake St. Moosup, CT) – The physical, business, and entertainment aspects of professional wrestling will be featured as former WWE superstar “The Promise” Antonio Thomas helps lead a two-day “futures” camp for aspiring wrestlers.
Presented by Slamtech and Pro Wrestling Combine, the camp will take place in two separate locations: Lake St. Moosup, CT (January 16, 2010); and Chicopee, MA (January 17).
On Day One in Lake St. Moosup, Thomas will teach camp attendees tips, tricks, holds and maneuvers culled from his highly successful career. He will be aided by 18-year veteran “Brutal” Bob Evans. Attendees must know basic wrestling holds, bumps and moves before entering the camp.
On Day Two in Chicopee, WWF/WWE announcer and producer Kevin Kelly will take attendees through the steps needed to succeed in the corporate world of the sport. Kelly will speak on how to dress, how to act, and how to avoid certain pitfalls. He’ll also touch on interviews and promotion skills.
“This is a great opportunity for aspiring wrestlers to be taught by successful professionals who really know what they’re doing,” Thomas says of his fellow instructors. “And I’m very happy to impart my knowledge to them as well.”
Thomas adds that Kelly will be appearing on the 16th to scout camp attendees. Everyone who signs up for Day One will be booked on a wrestling show that evening.
“Kevin has many connections in the wrestling business,” Thomas says. “So a reference from him is very valuable.”
Each day of the camp will contain four hours of instruction, from 12:00-4:00 p.m. ET.
Camp fees are $30 for Day One, and $35 for Day Two. However, attendees who sign up for both days will get a $15 discount—paying just $50 for both days combined.
Those interested in the camp should contact Thomas at tjm2333aol.com.
