DETROIT, MI — Fight fans in Michigan will be “Lucky Charmed,” for sure, this month.
Donofrio Entertainment, in association with Impact Fight League, returns to action on SATURDAY, APRIL 18 at the fabled Palace of Auburn Hills with fifteen action-packed mixed martial arts matches featuring the best the Great Lakes region has to offer.
They’ll also have one of the best the world has to offer, as the April 18 card brings a major league treat to combat sports buffs. KEN SHAMROCK, known far and wide as “The World’s Most Dangerous Man,” has reached an agreement with Donofrio Entertainment to come to the Palace for a special appearance at the show. Shamrock is, of course, one of the more enduring figures in the history of MMA. His matches with Royce Gracie, Dan Severn and Tito Ortiz were legendary, and he ranks among the greatest box office attractions in the history of the game.
He’ll be meeting and greeting fans, signing autographs for those in attendance, and serving as a guest announcer in the cage. He will also deliver a mixed martial arts seminar while he is in town, with details to be announced shortly.
It is appropriate that Shamrock, whose illustrious career dates back to the very first MMA show held in the United States and even prior to that when he competed in Japan, is hooking up with Joseph Donofrio, a genuine “old school” promoter who respects the sport and its roots. He’s “got no dog in these fights,” as they say, and his matches, orchestrated in conjunction with the estimable Anne Morrell, reflect that, offering evenly-contested bouts across all weight divisions. Donofrio’s shows have a well-earned reputation as some of the best to be found anywhere in the country.
Tickets for the April 18 show are priced at only $15 General Admission and $25 Reserved, and are available at the Palace Box Office, PalaceNet.com, Ticketmaster online, as well as all TicketMaster outlets, or through a “charge by phone” apparatus at 248-645-6666. A limited amount of front-row seating and VIP Reserved Cage-side tables are available by calling 248-770-6000.
