WTAE Channel 4 in Pittsburgh, PA has an article on their website featuring comments from TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle since his arrest this past Saturday.
Angle, who was described as being tearful during the interview, said that spending nine hours in the Allegheny County Jail was the lowest point of his life. “I’m just going to let the judicial system take its course and I’ll be vindicated. I spent nine hours in the (Allegheny) county jail. I mean, it was degrading.”
Angle claims to have no idea why Trenesha Biggers (Rhaka Khan) filed a protection from abuse order against him and said she asked to take his car and go to the store early Saturday. Not long after, the local police were at this door. “The cops told me I had to leave. I didn’t even know why. I got out of there. If they tell me I’ve got to get out of my house, I’m leaving, I’m gone, and this girl ended up following me.”
Angle said he grabbed a few items from his home including his Olympic gold medals. Biggers claims she went to a Starbucks in Robinson Town Centre to use the internet and then spotted Angle circling the parking lot three times and stared at her while she was outside. This prompted Biggers to call 911 and inform police that Angle was stalking her. Angle’s story is different, by stating she (Biggers) actually left his gated community after he did that morning.
Angle added, “We got surveillance tape that shows she followed me out, and then she had me restrict the protection from abuse order by following me, so basically in a nutshell, that’s pretty much what happened. The whole thing was just crazy. I told the girl it wasn’t going to work out. She asked me for my car to go to the store, went to police, got a PFA. The police came to my door, kicked me out, put her in, and it’s been like that ever since, and I spent nine hours in the county jail.”
Angle also said he plans to file a defamation lawsuit against Biggers, saying her charges have done damage to his character. Angle remains free on bail and will have two upcoming hearings. The first is on September 15th for drug and harassment charges, which be heard before the Robinson Township District Judge Carla Swearingen. The second hearing takes place on October 6th in Moon Township for the alleged protection from abuse violation. TNA spokesman Steven Godfrey refused comment on the situation. Angle appeared at Impact TV tapings on Monday.
