Mick Foley Comments On Bringing His Family To The Impact Zone; More
Published November 19th, 2008 in Headlines Mick Foley has posted a new blog entry on his MySpace page. Int it, he talks about bringing his family to the TNA Turning Point pay-per-view and the Impact tapings last week. Here is Foley’s latest in its entirety:
“Thanks for all your comments. So many people I run into seem to feel that TNA is really coming along. I really could not be happier there. I see so much potential for big things, and am glad to be in the middle of it.
I brought my family to Florida for the last PPV and Impact shows. Mickey said his favorite person there was “Germy”, better known to most of us as Jeremy Borash or J.B. “Germy”, you see, gave Mickey an avenue to showcase his unique musical skills. Stay tuned to TNA’s “Spin Cycle” to see the Foley’s welcome in the Holiday Season.
I returned home from the West African country of Sierra Leone ten days ago, and have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life; maybe the best. Sierra Leone, one of the poorest nations on earth, might seem an unlikely place to find hope and joy in the eyes of children, but I saw so much of it during my stay there.
I was sad to hear of the passing of veteran wrestler S.D. Jones. I met S.D. way back in 1987, and he was always a kind, affable guy. I was on many overseas tours and indies with S.D, and developed a special bond with him during one particular show in Maryland in 1990.S.D. came back from his match raving about a beautiful woman in the crowd. As he described this beautiful woman for the benefit of the boys, it became more obvious to me that he was talking about my girlfriend- now my wife.
I’m not going to be able to do this story justice, as our timer rang five minutes ago, and my son, Hughie, has proceeded to remind me many times that I promised to make jack-o-lanters tonight. Yes, we are still celebrating Halloween , even as we start celebrating Christmas. But over the years, S.D. and I shared many a laugh over that 1990 incident.
I will be appearing at Frank & Son’s Collectibles in City of Industry, California on November 29th, form 11-2. I hope to see some of you there.
Also, I hope to be selling a few of my best career items on e-bay over the next week, with ALL of the proceeds going to charity. So look for the original Cactus Jack outfit and the original Dude Love outfit coming your way soon!”

- JR Blog’s on ECW/SD, Piper’s DUI & Two Talent Getting a Big Push WWE SmakcDown Announcer Jim Ross has posted a new blog on his official JRsbarbq.com website. Below are some the highlights: JR commenting on SmackDown & ECW: “The Smackdown/ECW locker room dynamic seems to have changed significantly over the past few weeks and especially after the big “trade” of earlier in the week. The vets are doing a good job delivering the steak while the young talents are still searching to find their personas and what it is going to take to make themselves successful.” JR commenting on Dolph Ziggler & John Morrison: “As it relates to Friday Night Smackdown, it seems as if Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison are lining up to be the next talents to move up the ladder. Both are getting more opportunities to shine and are doing a nice job of producing positive results.” JR commenting on current and future talent: “I can’t remember a era within the business that there has been more of a need to add to the main event mix and to create new top level bouts especially on PPV. This goes along with creating new stars which one would think is logically every wrestling organization’s top priority.” JR commenting on Roddy Piper’s DU: “I’m not condoning that anyone drink and drive but it sure seems as if some are making a federal case about Roddy Piper’s recent arrest for an apparent DUI. Again, don’t get me wrong, DUI’s are serious business, but luckily there was no accident associated with this incident and no one was injured. I’m sure that Roddy feels as badly as one could feel about this embarrassing matter but everyone makes mistakes in life. I text Roddy this weekend, before the arrest for the record, and he was in amazingly, positive spirits and we largely discussed family and our health. I have great respect for Roddy Piper and I hope this issue can be resolved quickly and that history won’t be repeating itself. I, too, traveled down this road many years ago and learned a valuable lesson in the process.”
