Monday night live in Lafayette, LA, The Miz and Big Show won a triple threat elimination tag team match that included Degeneration X and the Straight Edge Society to become the brand new WWE Unified Tag Team Champions. The Miz pinned Shawn Michaels when Michaels and Triple H were arguing over who should be the legal man. (No word if the WWE has plans to have The Miz drop the U.S. title at this time or not)

After the match, Michaels pleaded with Teddy Long to be traded to SmackDown and placed in the Elimination Chamber match.  Michaels said he could win the title and then give The Undertaker a rematch at WrestleMania to end his undefeated streak.  Long said no and Michaels then hit Sweet Chin Music on him. He then told Hunter that “my career is over” and left the building.
