A report making the rounds on the internet from Dave Meltzer is that Jeff Hardy has been telling people he joined TNA because the company’s easier schedule. It has been reported that Hardy’s contract includes a deal where he won’t have to work any house shows. Sources say that the Mexican promotion AAA made a similar offer to him, but that would entail flying to Mexico, and they never made a firm money offer.
Meltzer is also reporting that those affiliated with the WWE were in constant contact with Hardy the day following his TNA debut hoping he would change his mind and return to their company over TNA . However, it should be noted that the WWE’s pursuit of Hardy came even after news broke that he was being indicted on drug charges from his arrest in September 2009 which includes felony possession of cocaine, felony drug trafficking of opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug, maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that the WWE’s apparent interest in overlooking the PR backlash that bringing Hardy back to their company would entail is being seenas an indication that the WWE is not completely viewing TNA as an irrelevant company.
It should be noted that neither Jeff Hardy or Shannon Moore were backstage at the last IMPACT taping or at the Genesis PPV last night.
