Shawn Michaels talks about retirement

In a recent interview, Shawn Michaels says he’s closer to accepting retirement from wrestling each time he comes home after being out on the road traveling for WWE shows.
“Every day I step through the front door, leaving wrestling is not as far away as it once was,” Michaels told Tim Baines of the Sun newspapers in Canada. “When it happens, I look forward to the rest and spending time with my family. Few guys get to go out the way I want to.”
Michaels, whose career is on the line at WrestleMania against The Undertaker who is 17-0 at the mega event, also talked about trying to top last year’s WrestleMania match with Taker and living up to a “mistaken reputation” for being one of the best in-ring performers in wrestling history.
“For WrestleMania, the nerves, the anxiety are still very much there. But once I get in there, instinct takes over,” Michaels said. “As I’ve gotten older, I’d tried to live up to whatever reputation that’s mistakenly been created. It’s a nervous excitement.”
Michaels also talked about one of the subjects about his character being able to get away with heelish actions, especially in the build-up to WrestleMania 26 which is March 28.
“It always comes down to drawing a connection with them. I might be able to get away with more than Triple H. And Triple H may be able to get away with more than John Cena,” Michaels said.
