A report from ProWrestling.net states that TNA President Dixie Carter stated that the company’s new agreement with Spike TV gives them the freedom to speak with other TV networks. There were said to be the hope of securing additional TV time in the new deal with Spike TV. While TNA did secure a series of 10 one-hour highlight programs, the obvious goal was to obtain an additional hour or two of new weekly TV programming.
Sources say that Dixie Carter was praised by many for showing stronger authority more than ever at last week’s IMPACT television events in Orlando. A meeting held before one of the tapings which Carter announced the new three-year television deal with Spike TV. A big party celebrating followed later that night. It has also been reported that Carter rubbed some wrestlers the wrong way. Carter gave talent a pep talk for in-ring improvement. Even thought she is the owner of the company, some felt she was speaking “out of turn” as she’s never been in the ring, while other talent felt her intentions were good, and that the veterans should work with the younger talent.
