The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that second quarter ratings for USA Network ended up setting a record for the best ever in the history of cable television. This was the first time ever that any cable network delivered more than three million total viewers (3.17 million) in a second quarter. The network now has 12 straight quarterly wins among people 25-54, 18-49 and total viewers. The USA Network is beating the CW Network prime time by 77% more viewers and USA also beat out NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX in 175 prime time hours during the quarter.
WrestleView.com is reporting a follow up story that Jeff Hardy has not signed a new deal with WWE and the impression internally is that he will be taking some extended time off. Hardy’s contract with the WWE is set to expire in the next few weeks and there are reports that WWE is working to get him to stay through SummerSlam.
WrestleBoard.com is reporting that during Rey Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship match with Chris Jericho this past Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan, his mask was removed and his face was exposed. A snapshot of Mysterio’s face exposed has been posted on the Japanese version of Yahoo! Sports. One shot features Mysterio quickly covering his face with both of his hands after his mask gets removed.
