Warner Bros. buys Midway, Joey Styles receives heat for Twitter posts & Ric Flair at ROH events
Published July 3rd, 2009 in Headlines
Variety Magazine has posted an article indicating that Warner Bros. has officially purchased a majority of the Midway Games assets for $33 million. The purchase includes games such as the Mortal Kombat series, as well as Joust and Spy Hunter. One game license that was not part of the purchase was the TNA Impact game series. TNA Impact 2 has been in developmental stages and the future of the game could be unlikely.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Joey Styles was told by the WWE to not make any more Twitter posts addressing political issues. Even though most in the WWE are conservative, Styles received a lot heat from the corporate offices which concern in could affect advertisement sponsors.
WrestlingInc.com is reporting that Ric Flair made appearances at Ring of Honor shows last Friday and Saturday in Detroit and Chicago. No issues were reported with Flair this time as he took part in interview sessions and cut promos at each event.
