WWE does not offer Ric Flair a new contract

By : Posted on

A report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicates that WWE will not be offering Ric Flair a new contract and no plans to use him on WWE Television. The report stated this is a business decision because they don’t want to sign talent under a contract whose booking they can’t have complete control with.

This news is one day following a statement by Flair’s non-wrestling booking company, Gillespie Talent that sent a statement to media outlets informing people that Flair is available for bookings through them and not the WWE. A story by indicated that the WWE brought Flair to the TV tapings two weeks ago in Charlotte, NC hoping it would swerve any backstage leaks indicating Flair was at the show and giving the impression that he was to be announced as the new RAW General Manager when instead the WWE surprised everyone by using the failed Donald Trump storyline.
