WWE Drug Test Issues & More on the recent commercial-free RAW
Published July 5th, 2009 in Headlines
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting strong dissatisfaction in the WWE regarding the company’s drug testing, more specifically what happened with Umaga (Eddie Fatu). The Observer stated there have been fines for the use of marijuana, but the bigger issue appears to be the testing process is not legit when it comes to the more prominent stars in the company. While there may not be any significant evidence to indicate this true, the Observer stated there was said to be some talk among talent in the last few months indicating that a major name talent failed a steroid test and it was covered up.
According to the Wrestling Observer, the recent commercial free Monday Night Raw idea was not by Vince McMahon, but the USA Network. Reports indicated that USA was feeling pressure from TNT’s big ratings from the May NBA Playoff’s and USA was concerned they would lose the second quarter hour ratings. USA ended up averaging 3.17 million viewers in prime time to the 2.64 million viewers that TNT had.
