The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the WWE’s creative team is slowly introducing things back into their television product that are more PG-13 than TV PG reports. The company position is that they are still PG and will remain that way for the time being. Some examples of pushing PG-13 (or TV-14) include a recent bikini match, and Santino Marella playing with a Trish Stratus doll pushing the face into the chest of Stratus. It has been noted that if the company continues the storyline of having a guest host of Raw every week there are plans of bringing the Godfather back to be the host on the August 24 edition of RAW in Las Vegas.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that TNA’s release of senior referee Rudy Charles (real name Dan Engler) was a cost cutting move. The cut surprised a lot of people within the company since he was popular with management and had been with the company since from the beginning. Engler held many jobs with the company including working with the creative team. Reports are indicating that the feeling is TNA has interest in hiring a local referee from the Florida area to replace him to save on transportation costs.
