ProWrestlingTorch.com is reporting that WWE’s second quarter 2009 (April to June) ratings for Monday Night Raw dropped a very small 0.4 percent compared to the first quarter of the year, January to March. The difference in viewership was 1.0 percent in favor of the first quarter.
The second quarter reflected significant highs and lows. April delivered a strong average TV rating of 3.77 for the WrestleMania fall-out episode. That was followed by the weakest month of the year, May averaging a 3.35 rating. The “KFC Chicken Gimmick” in June delivered the strongest monthly ratings with an average of 3.87.
The second quarter averaged a 3.66 rating. The first quarter was more even, ranging from 3.59 in January to 3.81 to February. Overall, the first quarter averaged a 3.67 rating, creating the 0.4 percent difference.
The estimated TV viewership was similarly close. The first quarter averaged 5.41 million viewers for Raw on a weekly basis. The second quarter averaged 5.36 million viewers.
