WWE signs another new TV deal & Notes about EC
Published December 1st, 2009 in Headlines
According to a story on DigitalSpy.com, the WWE has extended its broadcast deal with the UK’s Sky Sports for another five years. The contract begins January 1, 2010. Sky Sports will continue their ten and a half hours of WWE TV Programs.
Nielsen Media Research listed the November 24 edition of ECW on SyFy to have scored a 1.0 cable rating. Our sources are also indicating that the WWE is working with SyFy to re-brand WWE programming on Tuesday Nights at 10:00pm. There has been some speculation that the WWE will drop the letters of E-C-W and possibly go with a program similar to Superstars that airs on WGN America. Again, this is only speculation and there is not firm word from the WWE or NBC Universal who owns the SyFy network.
