WWE Threatens Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake With Cease-and-Desist Letter

According to a post this morning on, World Wrestling Entertainment’s legal team has sent former performer Ed Leslie a cease-and-desist letter requesting that he stop using his recognizable Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake ring name. WWE claims they own the trademark to the name and said Leslie stopped using it when he worked for World Championship Wrestling during the Nineties.

Leslie’s team of lawyers
say he has been using the name since 2000 and that World Wrestling Entertainment has not taken any action until now.

TMZ speculates that it could have something do with his role on Hulk Hogan’s reality show, Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling, which currently airs on CMT. Leslie is a trainer on the reality show.
