WWE.com has published several graphic photos from Edge’s Surgery Day in Birmingham, Ala. to repair the torn tendon in his left ankle. Photos included close-ups of inside Edge’s ankle during surgery, revealing the tear in his Achilles tendon. Edge’s emotions ranged from pain to laughter during his visit to Dr. James Andrews. There is no update from the WWE on how long Edge will be out of action after surgery. The WWE also has specified how the Unified tag title situation will be resolved with Edge out of action for an unknown and lengthy period of time.
Former WWE wrestler Elijah Burke said on his Twitter page that he had “minor surgery” on Monday afternoon. He indicated the surgery may keep him out of wrestling “for right now.” Reports are not clear if the surgery was related to him falling down a flight of stairs late on Sunday night. Burke said online this past Sunday that he was “pretty banged up” and not sure of his injuries after the fall. On Monday afternoon, Burke stated he was going to the emergency room. He insisted, “don’t assume anything.” On Monday night, Burke posted the message Twitter. “I’m kinda out of it right now,” he said. “Not sure, but Elijah Burke may be finished for right now.” Burke said he would update his complete status after the eventful two days.
