ProWrestling.net is confirming a report that some WWE officials had felt they could have re-acquired Kurt Angle in 2007. The creative team discussed the possible move and there were some in favor and others who were against it. The thought was pitched to Vince McMahon and he shot it down quickly, noting that Angle was not a channel changer, while also citing his prescription pill issues.
PW Torch Newsletter has a story from the Miami Herald’s website that newly signed TNA wrestler Bobby Lashley says that after looking at the TNA roster he wants to wrestle Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Booker T, Scott Steiner, or A.J. Styles. He figures he and Samoa Joe could have a tear-up fight if booked against each other.
Lashley told Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, “I’m really interested in wrestling Kurt. I had a long feud with Booker in WWE. Me and Samoa Joe might beat each other to death, and I want to have square off with Big Poppa Pump because he is a monster, I also want to work with A.J. Styles because that guy is phenomenal. The way he works matches, it’s going to be cool to go with that guy.”
Lashley was backstage at the Victory Road PPV this past Sunday and took the politically-safe route of simply saying he was “into it” as a fan. He pointed out the hard work by Dr. Stevie Richards in his match against Abyss. “Stevie Richards has been in so many different roles,” Lashley said complementarily. “Every time he does it, they throw him the pitch, and he hits a home run, and he’s doing it once again.”
